Objectif Libre joins the Charm Partner Programme

This article was last updated 9 years ago.

Canonical is excited to announce that Objectif Libre, the company behind CloudKitty, has joined the Charm Partner Programme. Canonical’s Charm Partner Programme helps solution providers make best use of Canonical’s universal service modeling tool, Juju; enabling instant workload deployment, integration, and scaling at the click of a button. Juju makes it easy to deliver complete solutions in minutes, on virtually any public or private cloud through the use of Charms. The Juju Charm Store has over 300 cloud based applications ready to be deployed, scaled and managed on most public and private clouds, as well as bare metal.

Objectif Libre will be charming CloudKitty, a component for OpenStack that seeks to fill the void between Ceilometer and billing by addressing pricing, rating and chargeback issues. With its modular approach, it is simple to customize to best fit your needs. CloudKitty uses the information from Ceilometer, but not only. It can fetch information from what you need to charge, whether managed by OpenStack or not. CloudKitty is integrated into Horizon for an easy to use graphical layout.

Christophe Sauthier, CEO of Objectif Libre, said: “Ubuntu is at the heart of the OpenStack ecosystem, and we are thrilled to be a part of it. CloudKitty offers users a modular and easy to use billing solution, that will be made even easier with the use of Juju.”

“The problems around standing up your cloud and making it work are largely in the past. The issue now is what you do with your cloud, and how to monetize it. Solutions like CloudKitty are necessary to be successful with this and we are excited to have them on board,” said Stefan Johannson, Global Software Alliances Director for Canonical.
